ABOUT
BBA BBA represents half a century of experience in newsgathering and distribution. The company began in the 1950’s as a division of Turkey’s largest newswire and picture agency. In the 1970s, BBA’s television department was formed to service the growing demand for locally-based TV production resources from foreign broadcasters and TV news agencies. Eventually, the 16mm silent film cameras gave way to sound-on-film, and then moved on to electronic newsgathering with, and BBA moved with the times and replaced its film production gear with professional video equipment. Now, the industry has embraced digital production, storage and distribution and once again BBA has not been slow to adopt this new technology. We pride ourselves in keeping in step with our clients and in providing them with compatible production resources that are up to or exceed the equivalent standards they expect from their own facilities back home. Whatever the equipment, or whoever our clients may be, BBA’s role remains the same - to be in the right place at the right time, covering news and distributing it reliably and quickly. BBA’s coverage capability is not just confined to Turkey. Our crews have been assigned to a wide variety of locations such as: Greece, Italy, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Macedonia, Somalia and Rwanda, often working under the most demanding conditions. BBA has also used its expertise to assist commercial organizations with their corporate productions. Clients include the World Health Organization (WHO), Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Merrill Lynch, Pfizer, the Union of Turkish Contractors, Is Bank and others. Having marked the Millennium in front of the pyramids in Egypt, transmitting the memorable concert by Jean Michel Jarre for the EBU, BBA enters its second half-century. The company’s long experience has equipped it well to meet every challenge of future news gathering and transmitting. It will continue to do so in the same way it has done for the past 50 years - with dedication, reliability and making friends with all those colleagues who work with us. |
